From time to time rare items crop up and this one is quite impressive! A tour programme of amateur and professional footballers who took upon themselves the long journey to Australia in 1925, couldn’t see this happening now!

I have this rare Croydon Common match selection postcard and bless him Mr Tucker never quite cut the mustard to win the honour of playing for Croydon. Records show that there was a trail match on August 16th 1911 and this man never played afterwards. If he went onto bigger and better things let me know! Twitter@

Found this really interesting piece of 1970 Mexico World Cup memorabilia this time from Italy but with political overtones!
This is a World Cup fixture list with the classic Juanita mascot. However, what is unusual is that it has a vote Christian Democrats within it! A case of when politics and football collide!
One of the great things about collecting old football memorabilia is that it often unearths a story or two. This old football chocolate card (similar in style to the British cigarette cards) shows New Crusaders football club who defeated the mighty Barcaelona, not once, but twice! This happened in 1911 and 1912.
One of the hardest and most valuable cup final football programmes to exist relates to the 1973 European cup final between the giants of Ajax and Juventus. The programme in its original state can go for a four figure sum but beware of reprints!
I discovered quite a find recently which is a bit of a mystery. Items relating to the final are very scarce due to the fact that the game was played behind the old iron curtain so anything relating to this final creates interesr. I have pictured below an old packet containing a wooden key ring, a badge and a coin referencing the final but issued by RSD Belgrade whereas the game was held by the nightly Red Star. If any Serbian friends could shed some light on this item please contact me and also who was Kes? An official mascot?
The wonders of collecting social history!
Decided to get a bag of photographic slides developed recently and they revealed some great shots of the 2nd April 1969 encountered between Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion with United winning 2-1
